In 2007 Mayor Kurt Alberts signed an agreement on behalf of Langley Township with the Federal Government, the Provincial Government, Translink, Vancouver Port, and the municipalities of Surrey, Delta and Langley City. The Roberts Bank Rail Corridor agreement brings funding of over $300 million together for a series of rail overpasses. The Highway #10 and Mufford/64 Ave intersection is the first in line to receive part of the funding package. This rail overpass together with road works is estimated to cost approximately $40 million. The overall package includes commitments from the Federal Government ($75 million), the Province ($50 million), Translink ($50 million), Vancouver Port ($50 million), municipalities ($50 million) and rail companies ($30 million). Work on road configuration options, design and cost of the overpass is already well underway.
